Personnages ailés

Les ailes des anges sont une troisième paire de membres qui ne se retrouve que chez les insectes. Qu’on le dise tout net, l’aile est plutôt symbole d’élévation et de promptitude. L’ange a bien sûr des bras et des mains car il est efficace. Les représentations ont cependant bien évolué avant de se fixer, en particulier, les ailes ne sont pas toujours obligatoires.

Chez les mamifères, les chauve-souris ont les ailes fixées aux pattes.

Bonne compagnie

Quand deux schémas se télescopent, la foi doit s’accrocher. Anne de France a le nez à un empan d’un dragon. Mais c’est celui que Jean l’évangéliste a fait sortir d’une coupe empoisonnée. Et c’est lui qui la présente au sein d’un triptyque dont il ne reste que deux volets, l’autre étant son mari Pierre II de Bourbon présenté par St Pierre.
