Seraphim

La variété des anges, organisée canoniquement en neuf choeurs dès les premiers âges, se résoud en peinture en quelques types standards, jeunes gens ailés, angelots bambins avec ou sans corps, souvent appelés chérubins, et archanges, distingués des anges par un nom et des attributs.

Il reste les mystérieux séraphins qui ont six ailes dont deux cachent le corps – ou le sexe. Trônes, vertus et dominations, puissances et principautés semblent peu représentés en tant que tels. Ce billet s’attache à présenter les séraphins et le reste de la famille.
